Paris Saint-Germain will have to bolster their center-back position during the upcoming summer transfer window. Lately, rumors have been connecting them to several central defenders, including Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino FC.

The 24-year-old is on various clubs’ radars ahead of the summer, with AC Milan and Tottenham Hotspur among the teams reportedly having an interest. There were whispers about the Italian defender in the January transfer window, and now his name has popped up again.

PSG might be looking to bolster their defense, especially since Milan Skriniar’s future with the team is up in the air. Nonetheless, CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Johnson notes that if the Parisians do see Buongiorno in a good light, they should let him test himself at another prominent club.

“Buongiorno, as much as he is highly rated, he’s on a Torino side that’s not—I wouldn’t say particularly excelling right now in Serie A,” Johnson said in an exclusive interview with PSG Talk. “And I think he’s the player who would probably develop into a more serious target should he move to a bigger Italian club and then continue to impress from there.

A recent report suggests that €40 million might be enough to seal the deal for Torino’s standout defender, who’s tied to the club until 2028. Given the interest from several top clubs in the 24-year-old, the price tag is likely to rise, especially since Torino holds a strong position in the talks.
