It isn't just the big game that football fans are placing their bets on these days -- they're also putting money down on who will win MVP. But one sportsbook has listed some interesting odds when it comes to who will hoist the Pete Rozelle Trophy and which team will win the Super Bowl.
According to DraftKings , Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts to listed at +700 odds to win Super Bowl MVP, ranking third among players still competing. But interestingly enough, the Eagles aren't favored as heavily to win as the San Francisco 49ers, who are listed at +450 odds behind only the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills -- while Philly sits at +500.
Updated Super Bowl MVP Odds:
— DraftKings Sportsbook (@DKSportsbook) January 16, 2023
1. Patrick Mahomes +350
2. Josh Allen +600
3. Jalen Hurts +700
4. Brock Purdy +750
5. Joe Burrow +800 pic.twitter.com/503E2E8Wvy
Of course, those odds will change after next weekend's divisional matchups. Still, it's interesting that Hurts is favored over Brock Purdy to win MVP, especially after the performance Purdy put on against the Seattle Seahawks in his first NFL playoff game.
At least DK has some symmetry in their AFC picks. The Kansas City Chiefs are the +300 favorite to win the Super Bowl, and Patrick Mahomes is listed as the favorite to win MVP at +350. Accordingly, the Buffalo Bills are the second favorite to win it all at +350 odds, and Josh Allen is listed at +600 to win the MVP.
The divisional round of the NFL playoffs kicks off on Saturday when Mahomes and the Chiefs host Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hurts and the Eagles will face Daniel Jones and the New York Giants later that day, while Purdy and the Niners host Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.
