New York Jets Jordan Travis Confident In NFL Future
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

After being selected by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, quarterback Jordan Travis is very confident he can make it in the NFL.

In the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Jets made a nice selection on Day 3, as they were able to snag a quarterback with a lot of potential in Jordan Travis. Travis had a great career at Florida State but unfortunately may be most well-known for getting hurt just before the end of the season last year.

With Jordan Travis out, the college football committee kept Florida State out of the final four despite being undefeated. The leg injury for Travis was certainly a significant one and likely affected his draft stock. For the New York Jets, it was certainly worth taking a shot at him.

Recently, Travis spoke about his opportunity to sit behind Rodgers and learn from him. Also, he talked about potentially being the quarterback who follows up Rodgers in New York.

“Yes, sir, I do think about that a lot,” Travis said Saturday at the Jets’ rookie minicamp. “But right now, I’m just focused on where my feet are, just getting healthy and getting everybody around me better, being a great teammate.”

Last season, Travis had a solid final season with Florida State before the injury, as he totaled 2,756 passing yards, 20 touchdown passes, and just two interceptions. Protecting the ball is something that Travis has done very well in college, as he only threw seven interceptions in the last two years.

For Jordan Travis, priority No.1 right now has to be to get healthy this offseason. With Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor on the roster, Travis will be able to learn from two veteran quarterbacks and have no expectations.

As the offseason rolls on, Travis will certainly be a player to watch for the New York Jets.
